George Schmidt Jr, age 52, of South Amboy passed away at home on Monday February 19, 2018 with his loving family by his side. George was a former member of the South Amboy Fire Department. He was an amazing electrician whose talents were endless. He was a loving friend and neighbor to anyone who knew him.

He is predeceased by his mother Hazel Schmidt. Surviving are his beloved children Nicole, Edward & his fiancé Stephanie, and Samantha and her fiancé Brian, his adored granddaughter Emma, his companion Lorriane, his stepdaughter Sharon, his mother in law Clare Moskwa as well as his father George Sr, his sister and her husband Terri & Michael Gawron and his best friend and dog Amelia and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane will be Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held 8:30am Friday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane followed by an 9am mass at Sacred Heart Church. A private cremation will follow.
