Obituary for Lono M. Akuna Anderson

Lona Akuna Anderson, age 84, of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Keanae, Maui, HI, she moved to Staten Island, proceeded to raise a family there and later moved to NJ. Before her retirement, Mrs. Anderson worked as the head of the traffic department for many years with the Department of Transportation in New York City as well as a school bus aide with the Sayreville Board of Education. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lona is predeceased by her beloved husband Lawrence Wiener and her parents Ahsing Akuna & Annie Kekahuna Alapainui Ali’i. Surviving are her loving children & their spouses Lorna Wiener Unger & Kevin Unger of Parlin, Erik & Rachel Wiener of Staten Island, Carol & Jimmy Clark of PA, and Curt & Andrea Wiener of Staten Island; and her 10 grandchildren Sharine & spouse Armando Rivera, Raymond, Lehr, Jayde, Crystal, Kiki, Kiana, Arianna, Jasmine, & Jesse; her 8 great-grandchildren Jerry & spouse Amanda, Brandon, Jelena, Armando, Kai, Mikayla, Dominick, & Rocco; and her great-great grandson Brayden.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday from 10am to 10:30am at Holy Cross Crematory located on Cranbury Road in South Brunswick. A cremation service will immediately follow services.
