Francis X. Woods, beloved husband, father, and uncle, age 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 11, 2018 at RWJ Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of Sayreville. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Victories School, St. Peter’s High School, and Seton Hall University. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Patricia, and their three boys, Casey and his wife Emily, Kevin and Bill. Frank was actively involved as a coach for his sons, and inspired a love of golf, baseball, trivia, darts, and reading. Frank began his career in the United States Postal Service and retired as Postmaster. He was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Victories and served on the Sayreville Planning Board. Frank was a 4th Degree member of the KofC Council 2061, the AOH in South Amboy, The Elks of New Brunswick, the USGA and a charter member of the Red Sox Nation.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Peggy, his sister Catherine, and his brother-in-law Norman Green.
He is also survived by his siblings Charles and his wife Marlene, Margaret Leon and her husband Raymond, Diane Brusich and her husband John, Sharon Green, Monica Bonkowski and her husband Leo, and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with a 9:30am mass to follow at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. A private cremation will follow.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday 4pm to 8pm.
